Robin's Butterfly
Many times the most beautiful gifts are offered to us simply and right before our eyes, though, it is our responsibility to actually see them. When my sister Robin was undergoing treatments at M.D. Anderson in Houston, our April day was scheduled around her Doctor’s appointments, but we always made the most of being together and looked forward to our afternoon at the Cockrell Butterfly Center. Robin was resting on a bench, while I had my camera in hand. A butterfly gently landed on a perfect pocket of light right before us. The shutter clicked just a few times, and all these years later, this image still has a hold on my heart. This delicate moment made an imprint on my soul and I am thankful that I was present enough to see it.
